About

The engine is the "black box" of any vintage motorcycle. Whether it’s seized, smoking, or just tired, you can’t fix it with hope—you fix it with physics, chemistry, and cash.

This consultation is the critical first step before we crack the cases. We don't guess; we plan. We will review your engine's symptoms, history, and parts availability to build a roadmap for a reliable resurrection.

What We Cover in 60 Minutes:

The "NLA" Parts Audit: The biggest risk in vintage engine work is "No Longer Available" parts. We research the specific availability of pistons, rings, cam chain tensioners, and bearings for your specific year and model before we tear it down.

Performance vs. Reliability: Do you want a factory-stock refreshing? Or are we boring it out for a big-bore kit, electronic ignition, and mild porting? We define the scope.

The Machine Shop Timeline: Cylinder boring, head decking, and valve seat cutting are outsourced to specialist machinists. We give you a realistic timeline (often 4–8 weeks) for this machine work so you aren't left wondering.

The "Basket Case" Assessment: If your engine is currently in boxes, we determine if it's even complete enough to rebuild or if you are better off sourcing a donor motor.

Why the fee? An engine rebuild is a $3,000+ investment. This consultation ensures we have a verified parts list and a solid plan of attack so your engine doesn't end up as a permanent fixture on our workbench waiting for a part that doesn't exist.

💡 Pro Tip (Save Money): We prioritize LOOSE ENGINES. If you remove the engine from the frame and bring us just the block, you will save roughly $500–$800 in labor and get a faster slot on our bench.
